Your rheumatologist may prescribe compounds called as DMARDs (Disease modifying antirheumatic drugs) such as methotrexate, hydroxycholorquine, sulfasalazine, leflunomide, cyclophosphamide and azathioprine. Apart from that steroids such as prednisolone, and NSAIDs (Painkillers) are also prescribed.
